If you have a limited amount of time, you can visit a few of the areas on this list in a single day trip along the Riviera Maya. Playa del Carmen is just one of the many towns and villages along the coast, and each place has its own special charm. The region is known for the most beautiful beaches in Mexico and the villages are packed with local culture and craftsmanship. The area is known for its natural beauty, with a neighboring forest to explore and plenty of opportunities to snorkel and dive if you want to check out the marine life. There are both coach and boat tours of the region available, but even simply driving your own car can provide a unique day-trip.
